Our Story
Operation Nation started with a frustration. Josien, an SEO specialist, kept running into the same problem: her clients' websites were holding back their search potential. Poor technical foundations, slow page speeds, and outdated CMS platforms meant that even the best SEO strategy could only go so far. The ceiling wasn't content or keywords... it was the website itself.
This wasn't an isolated issue. Small businesses and startups were launching on WordPress with pre-built themes and budget agencies... a reasonable starting point, but one that quickly became a bottleneck. Plugin bloat, poor Core Web Vitals, and rigid templates meant these sites couldn't scale with the business. Meanwhile, tech companies with strong engineering teams were so focused on building their products that their marketing websites were an afterthought.
Josien's husband, Eric, a full-stack software engineer with deep experience building high-performance web applications and SaaS products, saw the same gap from the engineering side. Together, they founded Operation Nation to solve the problem from both ends... combining SEO expertise with modern web engineering to build websites that are fast, scalable, and built to rank.
What started as an SEO-meets-engineering partnership has evolved into something bigger. As AI reshaped the digital landscape, we leaned in... integrating AI into every layer of what we do.
